MP3 Player
Most people store their audio files as Mp3 files and there are many players that are able to read and play the Mp3 format. An Mp3 player is a portable audio devices that were released on the market in 1996 and have been since then making history. Their predecessor was the portable CD player, but the portable audio devices that play music in Mp3 format are much more practical. Although they can carry a limited amount of Mp3 files, it is quite easy to download them from your laptop or PC or to transfer them via bluetooth.
So an Mp3 player is basically a storage device, like a flash memory, which due to special software allows you to transfer audio files from and to your laptop or PC and is able to organize these audio files in playlists, according to the choices you make. Also, apart from playing mp3 files, it may have radio and website streaming options. Most of these Mp3 devices can be connected to your computer via a USB port. Many other devices can embed an Mp3 player: there are Mp3 watches, clocks, smart phones and even Mp3 player sunglasses.
An iPod also plays Mp3 audio files and it is basically just another brand of Mp3 player with some special features. It is made by Apple and it uses the iTune software to transfer music to the portable music device. However creative this device may be, some people do not want or simply cannot use the ITune software and there are some alternatives to it. Still, in 2007 iPod was the best selling device in the history of portable audio players. The apple devices also have applications for photos and videos but so do some of the other portable playing devices on the market. Of course, the Mp4 players are a step forward from the Mp3 player devices. And the best software companies never cease to get more and more creative.
There are many brands that offer good quality devices, such as Archos and Zune : not only can you get an Mp3 or even an Mp4 Archos or Zune player for a really good price, but they are good quality players too. Some players come as hard drive models, with a capacity of 10GB and more. These can hold multiple forms of data from the computer and are very reliable. Others come as mini hard drives, with a memory capacity of 1GB up to 8GB. This is just temporary, though, as technology improves every day. Find a player that best suits your style and personality, check out different brands, compare prices and then make the best choice. You are very likely to desire something even cooler and smarter in less than a year, since all sorts of smart, useful and elegant players are coming out on the market all the time.
